Lost Dog

Our two year old Rotweiler got lost yesterday (8th Feb.) when it followed a car out of our gate, and on to the main road.

It was seen by several people near the Castle garage.

If anyone has any information please phone Pat Stanton-Humphreys on 084-321-0516

Many thanksSally Poster_2

Dalene Laing Community Library

Hi!

Setting up a community library has long been a dream of several Doornrandje residents.  They had offers of books, they had offers of shelving – they just needed a venue.

The first option was the Niko Knigge Green Room at Bathabile School (now renamed Laezonia Primary, by the way) but with the chaos within and the lack of communication from the Department of Education, that did not seem viable.

With new management at Skyview on the R511, another offer came up – the little double-storey building near the entrance.

After weeks of hard work labelling and sorting books, the library will be launched tomorrow, at the same time as the 4×4 Expo. (There’s lots more to do – if you have an hour or more, says Heather van der Heiden, who has done a lion’s share of the work…).

Dalene Laing, who was a energetic member of this group, sadly passed away recently.  In honour of her, the library will be called the Dalene Laing Community Library.  A special board has been made, which will be put up today.

The cost of the board was R420 and contributions towards this will be most welcome.  The first R150 has already been donated by a Hills and Dales resident.

If you would like to make a contribution – however small  – be in touch with Mary Scott:  083 654 6947.  Or:  meet her at Skyview tomorrow (15th September) and Sunday.

Remember – there will also be market stalls and hot food avialable at the Skyview.  Dalene Laing was a very creative person – there will be a table with some of her beautifully crafted items for sale.

Regards

Helen Duigan

Reporting all Incidents:

Hi All,

The new site developed is a brilliant way to keep tabs of all incidents that are happing in and around our areas.

We have had a large amount of dumping in Laezonia, mostly Pretorius street and the main road in Laezonia. If anyone sees, or hear or can obtain a photo, registration of the vehicles, please let us know. As this is becoming a eye saw, and a problem.
